What services should I get for my vehicle on a regular basis?
Q. I recently got my oil changed and they were offering many other services, such as cleaning the fuel injectors, etc. I would like to know which services do I actually need to get and how frequently do they need to be preformed? Also, if you happen to know approximately how much these services should cost, that would be great too. My car is only 2006, if that matters. Thank you!

Oil changes air filters quality gasoline and manufactures recommended service items like transmission drain and fills differential oil changes (timing belts) if equip. What basic services are provided by non-profit organizations?
Q. I'm trying to find out what basic services are provided by non-profit organizations. I know they all have their specific field, but there is a structure of sorts that all non profits will go through. I'm looking for a list of basic (and some not so basic) services they render, as well as a list of information detailing what the organization does through out the year. ie, look for sponsors 20% of the time, give away money or services 30% of the time, etc. Best answer will go to the person who is descriptive, detailed, knowlegable, and meets the requirements of the question. Thank you.

What support services are provided to people who are mentally handicapped today?
Q. What support services are provided to people who are mentally handicapped today and how is the service today compared with the service they recieved in the 1930's?
Asked by smilessxoable - Tue Mar 3 21:44:07 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It depends on what the person with a mental disability needs. A vocational rehabilitation counselor will provide available services from their office based on individual assessment of the client's capabilities versus the office resources. But cumulatively, services are much better than in 1930's America. First, people with disabilities are not automatically institutionalized away--out of sight, out of mind. Secondly, they are legally entitled to obtain a free appropriate and quality public education (aka special education) in their local school district. This was unknown in the 1930's. You did not educate people with disabilities because they were not expected to be productive in the public sphere doing anything.

What are some of the services in Massachusetts that will dissapear if the income tax is eliminated?
Q. I'm curious what the real impact would be if the income tax is eliminated. Please reply in an objective manner! What services would go? How would these eliminated services be paid for? Why, as a 24-year old, should I WANT to pay income tax for many services that do not benefit me in any way?

What are the different services you can use for a Toshiba Gigabeat?
Q. I want to get a Toshiba Gigabeat for Christmas. Which services can I get that allow me to download legal music for this player? I don't think iTunes will work and that is what I'm using right now for my iPod. I prefer a company that allows you to pay per song or a company that allows you to pay a certain price per month and allows you to keep your songs when you cancel your service. Any help will be appreciated.

What services are available to people with hospital bills that have gone to a bill collector?
Q. I'm thinking of those places that advertise on TV and say "this is not a loan or debt consolidation, we negotiate with your creditors", etc. Do any of these places help people with hospital bills that have gone to a bill collector? If so, any info on these services would be very helpful.

A. Medical bills are unsecured debts. You can pay what you can (say, $25 a month)...a judge will look at that if the hospital sues you and laugh at them.

Q. My father is a non-ambulatory Alzheimers patient in his 7th year in a nursing home. We are considering bringing him home, and are considering hiring daily or twice daily custodial care services. Do any of you know about the types of services, what they do and what they cost? General or specific answers are both helpful.

A. You will find Home health services in some states, they will send a nurse at least once a week to do vitals etc. and may have an aid from home health come and bathe the person a few times a week also. Care givers can usually be found through home health agencies, and you will want references from care givers, and check those references!!! there are alot of great care givers out there, I have personally worked with many of them over the years, I did home care for many years.

How does an international traveler on a visa get services that require a social security number?
Q. Most services like telephone, cable TV and internet ask for a social security number in order to establish service, primarily because they want to run a credit check. What does someone do if they are in the United States on a long-term visa and want to obtain these services? Europeans, quite obviously, do not have a social security number to provide. What do you tell the person when you are calling to set up service?
Asked by Fiddle Fee - Mon May 11 00:10:09 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Well, the answer is that if you have the legal right to live in the US, you can get a social security number. Otherwise, you will have to pay a deposit for such services.

How can public services be funded independently from market swings?
Q. I'm so tired of constant budget cuts in public services and education, et al, every time the market hiccups. How should they be funded so as to have a guaranteed constant income? A. Basically, when you buy music from iTunes, it comes with a copyright protection called DRM. These DRM-protected songs are locked so that they only work with Apple MP3 players. That means that if you bought a Microsoft Zune, you cannot use iTunes music. So, what is the solution? You have to burn a CD. When you do this, the DRM is removed (because the music is converted to a non-DRM-compatible media). After you burn the CD, you can rip it to your PC as an MP3 file which no longer has DRM. Alternatively, you can use TuneClone ( ). TuneClone makes a virtual CD-ROM drive, tricking your PC into believing that you are burning a CD. Therefore, the DRM is removed without wasting a CD. There are many hosting companies that can help you create a website even with average computer experience. Alternatively, have you considered attending your community fairs this spring and summer to have a booth? You might contact your local city government and find out if you can teach a class for free on scrapbooking how-to's for the community rec center. Go to senior centers, church groups, and volunteer to teach them. You'll have a chance to introduce yourself and tastefully tell them you offer these services. A. 'Bespoke' means tailored to your needs, or made to measure. You want bespoke furniture from a Joiner, carpenter (though technically they build big with wood) or a cabinet-maker. If you are wanting to make it yourself then look for furniture designers to help with measurements and specification.

Q. How are other church services like Lutheran, Episcopal, Baptist, and Evangelical services differ from a Traditional Catholic church service?
Asked by cram_141 - Sun Nov 2 19:02:06 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The Anglican and Episcopal churches themselves are the closest Protestant equivalents to the Catholic Church, although the Methodists do share some similarities, too. They differ from the Catholics mainly in that they do not recognize the authority of the sitting Pope as any other than a priest--no holier or better than others. There are other theological differences, as well, such as the ability of priests to marry and less emphasis on the veneration of saints.

A. That sounds like a good idea. You might want to consider a few things: You could make the project completely Internet based. Your service could send out emails in the form of a generic cover letter. The form could state a person's intentions in generic terms and say that a personal message will be coming later. You could also provide a chat room where the jilted could commiserate with each other. It might be different to make the whole process transparent so that everyone who visits your site could see the interchange of ideas and conflicts. In fact, the other users could provide their own ideas about reconciliation or retribution. Personally, I wouldn't have the temerity to use such a service, but it may be that the time is right… [cont.]

A. That sounds like a good idea. You might want to consider a few things: You could make the project completely Internet based. You could also provide a chat room where the jilted could commiserate with each other. It might be different to make the whole process transparent so that everyone who visits your site could see the interchange of ideas and conflicts. In fact, the other users could provide their own ideas about reconciliation or retribution. Another piece of the puzzle is the existence of medical insurance. Since many people are covered by medical insurance, the incentive to investigate what is needed is lessened.
