In ordinary usage, price is the quantity of payment or compensation given from one party to another in return for goods or services.

In all modern economies, the overwhelming majority of prices are quoted in (and the transactions involve) units of some form of currency. Although in theory, prices could be quoted as quantities of other goods or services this sort of barter exchange is rarely seen.

Price can sometimes alternatively refer to the quantity of payment requested by a seller of goods or services, rather than the eventual payment amount. This requested amount is often called the asking price or selling price, while the actual payment may be called the transaction price or traded price. Likewise, the bid price or buying price is the quantity of payment offered by a buyer of goods or services, although this meaning is more common in asset or financial markets than in consumer markets.

What is a fair price to pay for a website to be built for my business?
Q. I need a website designed for my business. I have seen prices range from $400 to $3000. What causes such a big range in prices and what do you think is a fair price to pay for my website?
Asked by Kevin - Sat May 29 02:49:51 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It depends on what kind of website you need, how involved and complicated it is. Are forms needed, will you be needing a shopping cart? and a host of other questons. An average guide would be $65 per hr...average 2 hrs per page...so for every page on your site you can expect to pay $130. Many people know how to build very basic personal sites, but they don't know about linking and a million other things. Most have no design skill either. Depending on your business and your budget of course, but you will most likely need someone who has the skills to create you a quality site. That's when you will expect to pay for it. Someone who offers a big site for a few hundred dollars is not going to give you what you need. I can help you… [cont.]

How to get the best price when buying a bond on the secondary market?
Q. Stocks have a bid/ask spread that fluculates through the trading day and are very transparent. Bond pricing is not transparent so how do I know if I'm getting the best price when I buy a bond, and not just a profit-inflated price from the trader that is trying to sell it?

A. Contact the Edward Jones investment rep nearest you. Go to their website at www.edwardjones.com and enter your zip code to find the closest office. With 10,000 locations, chances are there's one within 10 miles of where your live. As for WHY your would want to this, contrary to the last answerer'a assertion that brokers don't find bonds sexy and hence don't bother learning about them, throughout their 135-year history, Edward Jones made their business on selling quality bonds to individual investors. I've found some of the most knowledgable people I know regarding bonds to work for Edward Jones. In addition, they do so much bond business that they get optimal pricing and that is in turn passed on to you. When calling around for price… [cont.]

What percentage of the asking price is resonable to offer on a condo or townhouse ?
Q. I am looking for a condo or townhouse to buy in the central part of Connecticut. In spite of the depressed conditions of the market these days, I still find the asked price for some units on the high side. I appreciate that the owner has to make a profit, however, I want to pay what is reasonable, considering the circumstances. How do I decide on the price to offer? Shall I discount a certain percentage of the asking price? what is the best strategy?

A. first of all find out what condo's in the area you are looking at are selling for now! that will show you what the market is doing currently. Also consider when making your offer asking for 6% seller concessions this will help cover all your closing costs and what is left over can help you greatly! i would say instead of trying to figure what percentage look at whats sold recently and at what price form there include closing costs when you make an offer! this will give you the most bang for your buck and make the seller pay yor closing costs. have an approval from a lender when you make your offer and you will have the most impact with the seller. Also dont go to the sellers agent to make the offer get your own agent they should not… [cont.]
