A. There is no time limit for availing CENVAT credit. However the following two aspects need to be kept in mind. a. CENVAT on Capital goods can be availed only upto 50% in the year of purchase and balance can be availed in the subsequent year. b. CENVAT credit set off against service tax shall not exceed the balance as on the last day of the previous month. For Eg: If you service tax liabililty for April is Rs.10,000 and you have Rs.2,000 as input credit as on 30th April which rises to Rs.2,500 as on date of payment (lets say 4th of May), then, the amount that may be set off is only Rs.2,000 and not Rs.2,500/- Hope that answers your question

Then each can claim 1 lakh each. *If the interest paid on home loan is Rs.3 Lakhs. Then each can claim 1.5 lakhs each *If the interest paid on home loan is Rs.4 lakhs. Then each can claim 1.5 lakhs only as 1.5 lakhs is the maximum benefit limit per head. Principle repayment benefit u/s 80c: If the principle repayment is 1 lakh, then 50 thousands each. If the repayment is 2 lakhs each can claim 1 lakh each. If the repayment is 3 lakhs, each can claim only 1 lakh as the benefit is restricted to 1 lakh per person.
